The two companies operate at different stages of R&D development. expernova locates specialists for clients that require expertise in an already identified scientific field. With select data mining tools, expernova’s search engine generates competency profiles from existing sources found on the Web (research papers, patents, etc.). Hypios helps companies solve internal R&D problems by putting them on its open-problem solving platform. It uses proprietary semantic technology, intelligent crowdsourcing, and human business process management to maximize the overall success rate.
